TJ West [Video Premier]: The Brothers Comatose “The Way the West Was Won”

TJ West is delighted to premiere the video “The Way The West Was Won,” from the The Tomboy Sessions, off of The Brothers Comatose new album City Painted Gold, which was released on March 4th.  On City Painted Gold the string quintet drew inspiration from the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood in San Francisco where they lived for 14 years. TJ West had the pleasure of interviewing The Brothers Comatose in September of 2014.

The Tomboy Sessions is a new music video series coming out of Santa Cruz, CA that features hand-crafted American Roots music and artists.  The videos are shot in the unique and intimate atmosphere of the Tomboy Vintage western store during their normal business hours while customers browse the store.  The brainchild of Mischa Gasch, who owns the TourMore entertainment agency,  Gasch wanted to provide an opportunity for Santa Cruz and its music scene to receive national attention and to give renowned bands one more good reason to put the beautiful city of Santa Cruz on their tour schedule.  Planning on 9 sessions in the first year, The Brothers Comatose, “The Way The West Was Won” kicks off the series.

The Tomboy Sessions are a true local collaboration of well-established businesses from Santa Cruz county, and include local talent for film and audio. The Sessions are sponsored by Universal Audio, Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Sylvan Music, and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing. Gadgetbox is providing the audio, and Seafoam Films is shooting the sessions.
