For those of you who live in LA, John Prine will be playing June 10 at the Orpheum Theatre. Tickets can be purchased here.
His most recent release, In Person and On Stage is a collection of fan favorite tracks performed live. Though his voice sounds a bit ruff at points, the album features killer duets with Iris Dement (“In Spite of Ourselves,” “Unwed Fathers”) and Emmylou Harris (“Angel from Montgomery”).
The highlights of the album are his between song banter and a great, extended rendition of the Prine classic, “Paradise” (which clocks in at seven minutes long – double the length of the LP version).
